The last few days I tried to be creative and made a piece of terrain for FoW. It is a pond or swamp and completely made out of scrap material.
I am not totally happy how the water looks but for this time it has to do. I know what I did wrong so the next time I know what to change. If there will be a next time that I make a Pond :-).
The pictures are not to best. They look shining because of the light-fall on the Gloss varnish and too bright. But I think you get the idea how it looks.
Now some pictures.

Nice work, especialy as its entirely scratch built. I recently painted a resin pond model and had the devils own job getting the water right.
ReplyDeleteGood scratchbuilding skills Hein. I find it extremely difficult to get the water right so I stopped trying..Nice piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteFor the water i only used paint.
I started with a layer of dark green, followed by a layer of blue. When is was dry i painted on a mixture of Dark green and blue. The last layer is a mixture of Dark Green, blue and a muddy brown color. Afterwards this brown colr could have been darker. Then a spraycoat of matt varnish. Let it dry. Then i painted a layer of Gloss varnish on the water.
But i am not to happy with the color.
