After some thinking and dubbing I found it is time to open a second blog.
A blog that contains pictures of other models that i painted for other game systems (GW and Confrontation) before i started with FoW.
It is not to show how good a painter i am, because i consider myself nothing more then an average painter who just wants a decent looking army on the gaming table, but just to show what else i have painted. And maybe will paint.
The blog is still under construction but i already placed some post with painted models (Confrontation).
Take a look if you like.

Confrontation Miniatures: Maneös, Warrior Beetle.
This is the last painted Daïkinee model I have. All other Daikinee models are still bare metal.
I don't like this one. It didn't came out the way i wanted it to be (I don't say I am a good painter). I specially dislike the eyes.
Thanks for looking.

Battle of the Bulge.
Today it is 65 years ago that the Battle of the Bulge started (16 December 1944-25 January 1945). It was the last main and massive counterattack of the German forces during WW II. The most famous event known by most people of the Battle was the defense of Bastogne by the 101st Airborne Division. But this was only a part of the whole battle.

New army excel file Parachute Rifle Company North Africa (book 2)
I up loaded a new army excel file for Parachute Rifle Company from the new North Africa book.
Someone pointed out to me it contained some mistakes.
-The major one is that the Chemical mortar platoon is changed from 125 to 135 points.
-The Ranger platoon didn't give the proper stats in the OoB as soon as you added the 60mm mortar.
-A few minor problems.
The new file can be loaded from the known (i hope) links.

New army excel file US Airborne Hell's Highway (V1.1)
I placed a new army excel file for US Airborne Hell's Highway up for download.
The box to select the Guards Armoured Platoon wasn't working properly. It didn't show the 2 Shermans + 2 Firefly's option.
It can be downloaded from the usual places.

Glider Rifle Platoon
A Glider Rifle Platoon Painted old style (D minus 1). Because my Airborne army is painted in the Normandy style and i don't have any intention to repainted my whole army for Market Garden, each new platoon i add will have the old uniform colors.

New Monty's Meatgrinder list.
Replaced the Monty's Meatgrinder (Canadian/British forces) list with a newer version.
The old file contained some mistakes.
-Points for Commandos weren't working properly when you took them with Canadians.
-The Cell security were you can set the army point cost is removed.

Changes in some army excel files
I made some changes in the following files:
US Airborne HH
-The Airborne Divisional recon platoon was listed as having a HQ section which it hasn't. This is changed.
US Airborne D minus 1
-A few rows in the OoB weren't working.
British/Canadian 3rd Division (Monty Meatgrinder)
-When you choose only wasp carriers. It now no longer list as "Carrier patrols: not selected Wasp patrol" but simple as "Carrier patrols: Wasp patrol" in the OoB.
Place to download the files is the same.

Canadian Universal Carriers and 6 Pounder Guns
Between building army excel files i also found time to do some painting. (Click on the pictures to increase the size)
Let's start with the Canadian Universal Carriers Patrol.
Of 2 Carriers i drilled out the MG port at the front and placed the extra Hull MG there. The 3th Carrier got the Extra Hull MG placed at the top of the carrier. The Commander got an extra .50 cal browning. Two are missing the stars on the side. I ran out of decals and forgot to order some extra. Feel stupid now.

The Canadian 6 pounders.
As i don't have a platoon commander for this platoon...yet. I decided to use the Stan Hollis mini plus 1 extra mini that came with the British company box for this roll. I play Canadian not British. :)
Also i like to add 2 more 6 pdr's to this platoon.

My Painting area
This is how my painting area looks. Click on the picture to enlarge.
Overview.

Closer look. As you can see i placed a wooden box, which contain my painted Canadians, on the table to increase the painting hight. And even now i even had to lower my chair for a more comfort feeling when painting.
On the left is a wine-bottle box that contains my paints and brushes plus some other stuff. On the right is a wine-bottle box that contain the undercoated ready to paint stuff, on top of it are the paints i am using right now.

At the right of my painting area you find the box with all my painted US Airborne.

And last my light source.
It contains 6 tubes.

New British / Canadian excel file
I made some changes to the British / Canadian file. (The counting of the total point-cost of the company wasn't working correctly).
Because the site that normally host my files doesn't work properly, the downloaded file doesn't show up for download (Not the first time), made me decide to create a webpage on an old website i have and upload my files there for download.

Mid War tourney. The AAR
Right last Sunday the Mid War tourney. There i stand with my US Parachutes.
Sorry i didn't had much time to take pictures.
First round
Mission: Free for all
Enemy: Compagnia Bersaglierie (IINO)
The table (click on picture to increase size):
Right after i saw the list the only thing i could think of was: "Why Me?".
Telling me its an infantry list and the only thing i see is tanks and cannons and 1 small infantry platoon. Not fun.
After a good thinking i decided to try to get a draw and try if possible to destroy a platoon or capture a objective. For the last part i didn't even came half way and even destroying a platoon was impossible. In the end i lost 1 platoon.
Bad dice rolling didn't help either.
This was not a fun game. It was a wall of (machine) guns.
A game to forget.
Second round
Mission: No Retreat
Enemy: Aufklärungsschwadron
The table (click on picture to increase size):
Me the defender could place 3 platoons on the table. I choose 2 Parachute infatry platoons and the field artillery platoon.
I can be very short about this.
Turn 4 Game Over.
With his movement he was already in reach of the first objective in turn 2 and could start the firing. With his recce platoon he lifted the gone to ground status. As a miracle nothing got killed of my defending platoon.
In turn 1, 2 and 3 i did not get any reserves. Which made the situation more desperate.
My artillery didn'range in in turn 1 and 2. When it did in turn 3 it did hardly any damage.
In turn 3 my defending platoon got almost wiped out. Only a few survivors who broke off.
Turn 4 Objective claimed.
Although it was a fast game it was also a fun game.
Round 3
Mission: Encounter
Enemy: SS-Panzergrenadier
The table (click on picture to increase size):
Information. The plates that look like woods aren't woods but is difficult terrain that gives concealment but you can look right through it.
What my opponent exactly in his army had i don't know anymore but it contained, 3 Stukas zu fuss, 3 Goliaths and Generaal majoor Otto Hans Remer. Oh joy.
By the time my reserves arrived it was already to late. He never claimed an objective but i lost 2 platoons my artillery and a para platoon.I didn't even had a change to go for one of his objectives.
Postive thing: the Stuka zu fuss only killed 1 gun team and the command team. The 3 Goliaths were only possible to kill 2 infantry stands. Generaal majoor Otto Hans Remer is sick.
My artillery did nothing (1 bail and 1 pinning)
My reserves arrived in the round when time was almost up (5 minutes left). His reserves started to turn up from turn 2.
If i have to choose which round was the most boring and less fun it would be a close call between round 1 and 3.
All in all
The organization of the tourney were great.
And i enjoyed the day.

Mid War Tourney
Tomorrow is the day of truth. I am playing in a local tourney. 1 Day, 3 rounds, 1500 points, missions unknown until beginning of each game, Mid War
I will be bringing my US para's of course.
My List:
HQ
-Company Commander: Lt. Col. Raff.
-2iC Commander: 2iC Carbine team
-3 Bazooka teams
Combat Platoons
-Parachute Rifle Platoon #1: Two Rifle/MG Squads, 1 Mortar Squad (2 Command Rifle/Mg teams, 6 Rifle/Mg teams, 1 M2 60mm Mortar), 1 Bazooka team
-Parachute Rifle Platoon #2: Two Rifle/MG Squads, 1 Mortar Squad (2 Command Rifle/Mg teams, 6 Rifle/Mg teams, 1 M2 60mm Mortar), 1 Bazooka team
-Parachute Rifle Platoon #3: Two Rifle/MG Squads, 1 Mortar Squad (2 Command Rifle/Mg teams, 6 Rifle/Mg teams, 1 M2 60mm Mortar), 1 Bazooka team
Weapons Platoons
-Parachute Mortar Platoon: Two Mortar Sections (2 Command Carbine teams, 4 M1 81mm Mortars), 1 Bazooka team
Support Platoons
-Parachute Engineer Platoon: HQ Squad, Operating Squad (2 Command Carbine teams, 4 rifle teams), 2 Bazooka teams
-Parachute Anti-aircraft Artillery Platoon: One Auto Weapons Section (1 Command Carbine team, 2 M2 .50 cal AA Guns)
-Field Artillery Battery #1: HQ section, Two M2A1 105mm gun sections
If it is a good list or if it will work i don't know but fun is something that will come at a first place for me.
Only bad thing is that the club that organize the tourney will also use their own house rules which is more then 1 A4 full and most of these rules i don't like. But will we see.
If i find time i will take some pictures and try to write an AAR.
Wish me luck...

New Excel files for Afrika and D-1 Airborne
After some advices from others I made some changes in the Excel files for the US airborne troops from the Afrika MW book and the D-1 LW book. Changes are: The OoB now also show the special rules that the heros have, In the company sheet it now will show that, when you select a platoon that can not be used in an airborne assault, you can not use the list for airborne assault.(It wil show in the left corner). This will also be seen on the OoB sheet where it says Support platoons. As soon as you take a platoon that can't be used in an airborne assault it will change. Further i made some cosmetic changes.

Update Excel file.
One day old and i already made an important update in the British / Canadian Excel file.
I forgot that when you don't take an anti tank(sp) platoon, royal artillery and an anti tank platoon, royal artillery you can take an extra armoured platoon.
You can download the new file by using the link in previous post.
Sorry for this.
Also made some small changes in the looks.

British / Canadian army excel file
I created a British / Canadian army excel file from the Monty's Meatgrinder handbook for FoW.When using it then you should know the rules.Written in the Rulebook and in the above mentioned handbook. This list don't contain them.

Although i checked if it contains mistakes a lot of times there is always the possibility that i missed some of them.
I am after all still only human. If you find one please let me know.
