Use the Files link under the title-header for the full list of links to download the files.

Maybe in the future I will make a few new army files but it won't be many.

Now I finally I can spend this extra time on painting my FoW models.

Thanks for reading.

The big update operation of the army files to the V3 rules part 4.

As promised.
I updated the below mentioned files.
The self defence Anti-Aircraft guns like the AA MG and the .50 cal AA MG now have the stats included for shooting at aircraft.
Also the stats for the Anti-aircraft platoons have been changed.
And in some files I fixed a couple of errors that I found while I was updating the army files.

Hell's Highway - US Airborne (3v1.1) Approved
Turning Tide - US Airborne Divisions (3v1.2) Approved
Turning Tide - US Light Tank Divisions (3v1.1) Approved
Turning Tide - US Medium Tank Divisions (3v1.1) Approved
Hell's Highway - 30th Corps (3v1.1) Approved
Turning Tide - 3rd Canadian, British 3rd, 50th T&T Infantry Divisions (3v1.1) Approved

And 2 more army files of which I had to correct some things that I uploaded earlier but not have mentioned about it here on my blog before.

Turning Tide - British Armoured Squadron (3v1.2) Approved
Turning Tide - British Armoured Recce Squadron (3v1.2) Approved

The next files that will be updated from the V2 to the V3 rules are:
Both the Turning Tide US Ranger battalions, and the Turning Tide Task Force A.

News from the painting front is that there is no news. I am in a painting dip. Somehow I can't get myself motivated to do some painting.

Thanks for reading.

The big update operation of the army files to the V3 rules has started.

Now that I have the Know Your Enemy book I have started with the big operation to update all my army files to the V3 rules version.
So far I have done four files.
-Turning Tide - US Airborne Divisions (3v1.0) Approved
-Hell's Highway - US Airborne (3v1.0) Approved
-Turning Tide - 3rd Canadian, British 3rd, 50th T&T Infantry Divisions (3v1.0) Approved
-Hell's Highway - 30th Corps (3v1.0) Approved
These were the easy ones because I already had an Under Review version of these files.
As usual there are two versions of each file. An Excel one and an ODS one.

The links to the files can be found Here.
Or just just click on the Files link under the title-header of the blog.

It will take a while before all my army files will be updated. Even that these 4 files were Under Review, which meant that a lot of work was already done, it still took me almost a day to update them. Most other files that I have to update don't have an Under Review version. So it can take some months before all files are done. I hope you have the patience to wait. :-) I will do my best to have updated all files as soon as possible!

Thanks for reading.

Again changes to V3 Approved army files.

Because Battlefront keeps constantly changing some of their V3 Approved army files I again have to make changes to two army files. Which is sometimes a little frustrating.
In this case it are the following 2 files:
-Glider Rifle Company Market Garden PDF (3v2.2) Approved
-Grenadier Guards PDF (3v2.1) Approved
In both PDF briefings the Anti-Aircraft platoons have been changed. It has been split up in a normal Anti-Aircraft platoon and an Anti-Aircraft (SP) platoon. These changes now also been made in the Army files.

Further I uploaded 3 Under review files. One is a new one and two are updated ones.
The new one is:
-Turning Tide - 3rd Canadian, British 3rd, 50th T&T Infantry Divisions (3v1.0) Under Revie
The two updated ones are:
-Turning Tide - US Airborne Divisions (3v2.0) Under Review
-Hell's Highway - US Airborne (3v2.0) Under Revie
In the note sheets of these three file you will now find the following sentence:
This is an Under Review Army File. Some of the Stat and Diagram changes are assumptions by me based on the Forces book from the V3 bundle and V3 approved PDF briefings.
Keep this in mind when you use these files.
These are also the last Under Review files I made or change. At the beginning of June the Know Your Enemy book will be available. This book will bring all Late War army-books up to date with the V3 rules.
Go here: Army files or click on the Files link under the title-header and look for the right file to download.

Updated Army files 2

Here is part 2 of the updated Army files.
All the following files have the Carrier Patrols and / or Scout Patrols changed. The Boys Anti-Tank rifle and / or Piat anti tank projector that replaces an extra hull mounted MG at no cost. In the old files you bought these upgrades for 0 points. This was wrong and is now changed. You now pay the 5 points that normally the Extra hull mounted MG would cost. Also in the Scots Divisions army file the way you can choose the Boys Anti-Tank rifle and Piat anti tank projector has been changed. One thing, if you use the files check if the OoB has the correct printing size.

Which files have been changed:
-Grenadier Guards PDF (v1.4)
-Hell's Highway - XXX Corps (v3.2)
-Scots Divisions pdf (v1.2)
-Turning Tide - 7th Armoured, 4th Canadian Armoured Division Motor Company (v1.1)
-Turning Tide - 7th Armoured, 4th Canadian Armoured Lorried Rifle Company (v1.1)
-Turning Tide - Canadian Armoured Recce Squadron (v1.1)

Thanks for reading.

Updated Army files 1

This is for those who don't frequently or never visit the FoW forum. I am busy updating most of the army files I made. Something I started with before the crash.
Now the first batch of updated files are uploaded and can be downloaded. The second batch with updated files will follow soon.
The files can be found here: Army files
Here is a list of witch files are updated so far and what have been changed in the files.

- Sicherung in Warsaw(V1.1)
The Gepanzerte Pionier Platoon option wasn't working.

- D Minus 1 - US Airborne (V3.5)
In the old file you could choose between 2 different kind of Cavalry platoons. 1 from the book or 1 from a seperate pdf file. As this PDF file no longer exist I have deleted this option from the army file.

- Hell's Highway - US Airborne (V3.5) + Glider Rifle Company PDF (V1.5)
The Parachute OoB didn't show the Matador tractor when you did select it. The CoAx MG and Hull MG are now mentioned separately in the OoB and no longer together in 1 row. Also did I change in both the Parachute and Glider Company sheets the formulas in the cells that gives the points for the jeeps that can be selected with the Glider field Artillery battery. These weren't working properly.

- Turning Tide - US Airborne Divisions (v2.5)
Both the OoB didn't show the armor values of the Stuart tanks. Error solved.

- North Africa - US Parachute (book 2) (V1.8)
I know I did do something with this file problem is that don't know what it is. A day later my computer crashed.

- Turning Tide - 3rd Canadian, British 3rd, 50th T&T Infantry Divisions (v2.0)
Carrier Patrols. The Boys AT or Piat anti tank projector that replaces a extra hull mounted MG at no cost. Thing is that you could buy these upgrades in the files for 0 points. This is wrong and is now changed. You now pay the 5 points that normally the Extra hull mounted MG would cost. This also count for Recce scout patrols.
This change will be made in all the British and commonwealth files I made.

- Turning Tide - Tank Squadron (v1.2)
Tank Squadron sheet. Combat platoon totals wasn't working correct. solved
Tank Squadron OoB sheet. The sheet didn't show the stats for the Headquarters. solved
Universal carrier patrol. see above.

Army files number 3 and 4 of the army file poll

Here are the next 2 files of the poll. The one that became number 3; Commando (Beaches) and the one that became number 4; Commando (Orne). Both from the Turning Tide book.
The Commando (Beaches) file contains a new option. In Cell 11 you first have to select a Support Division. Some of  the support platoons that can support the Commando troop must be from the 3rd Division, 3rd Canadian Division or 50th Division. It can't be a mix. So selecting a Support Division is important to get the right points for these support platoons. Standard it is set on 3rd Division. In the Breaching Group (row 38 and 50) you can only select how many engineering teams you want. I leave it up to you to fill in what exactly you take.
In the Commando (Orne) file you have the option to take the 51st Highland Division Lorried Rifle Platoon (row 56) this is the Lorried Rifle Platoon from the 7th Armoured Division. See page 69 Turning Tide.
As always there is an Excel, Excel 2007 and an OpenOffice version of these files.

Now, for those who haven't noticed it yet, something about some other files. There are some updated files for the following company's because they contained some mistakes:
Turning Tide - US Airborne Divisions (v2.0) (Problem with the Corps Armored Field Artillery Battery)
Turning Tide - US Light Tank Divisions (v1.5) (Problem with the Recon Platoon)
Turning Tide - US Medium Tank Divisions (v1.5)(Problem with the Recon Platoon)
Turning Tide - 3rd Canadian, British 3rd, 50th T&T Infantry Divisions (v1.2)(Problem with the Independent Armoured Platoon)

The next files also have an update although they didn't contain any mistakes. I just made some changes in the data.
Hell's Highway - US Airborne (V3.3) + Glider Rifle Company PDF (V1.4)
D Minus 1 - US Airborne (V3.4)
North Africa - US Parachute (book 2) (V1.6)

US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF armyfile update 4

I am deeply ashamed of myself .
I just found out that i completely fucked up the US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF army file on the last update (September 15). There was not much that worked the way it should work in the US Airborne HH part of the file after the update.
I made a new file: US Airborne HH (V3.2) + Glider Rifle Company PDF (V1.2)
Let's hope everything now works as it should be.
I am really sorry for all trouble i caused.
Maybe it is better i stop making files.

Thanks for reading.

US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF armyfile update 3

A new update for this file. There were some bugs in the US Airborne part of the file.
All seems to be fixed now and a new file can be downloaded again.
Again sorry for the trouble.

US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF armyfile update 2

I hate to tell this but there is again a new version of the US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF file.
This time it was a major mistake i found. The OoB didn't notice the point cost for the 2nd AT Gun platoon and left the points at 0 when you selected the platoon.

I am very sorry for all the trouble. I really hoped that the file didn't contain any mistakes.

US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF armyfile update

An updated file is up for US Airborne HH + Glider Rifle Company PDF.
1stBn (know from the FoW forum and a regular reader of this blog)  was so kind to point out a minor glitch in the Glider Rifle Company file.

Sorry for the trouble.

Hell's Highway + Glider Rifle Company PDF Army excel file

With the release of the official Glider Rifle Company PDF i can now announce the arrival of a new Army excel file.
It is a combination of the US Airborne Hell's Highway Army file plus an Army excel file for the new Glider Rifle Company PDF.
The Hell's Highway Army file is version 3.0 because i made some changes. The 'biggest' change is the Airborne Divisional Recon Platoon. Instead of choosing 1 or 2 sections you now have to choose between 1 or 2 sections with normal jeeps (101st division) or 1 or 2 sections with armoured jeeps (82nd Division).
If there are people that rather have 2 separate files let me know and i'll see what i can do.
Please always check if the files contain mistakes.

Where to find:

-FoW Army Files

New Army file XXX Corps Hell's Higway

I uploaded a new XXX Corps HH file. Version 2.0.
On the FoW forum in this thread: arming stuarts with AA mg from HH
Mike at Battlefront placed the following errata.

On p.18, It should read: Arm any or all Stuart tanks with an AA MG for +5 points per tank.
On p. 31 It should read: Arm any or all Staghound armoured cars with an AA MG for +5 points per car.

This meant that i had to update my file cause in the old file the point cost was listed as 5 points for all Stuarts / Cars.
The 2nd Household took me most of the time so I hope everything still works like it should.
There is an Excel, Excel 2007 and OpenOffice file.

You can find the new files here:

or here

New pictures of my painted 101st Airborne Division

Looking at the bad pictures i posted on this blog of my Airborne Division i decided to take new photos of all the platoons i have. But the first thing i did was to paint some more details on the older platoons. Also i have redone all the bases. Because of the extensive use the flock started to come of from the bases.
The D-1 and HH stand for the handbooks i can use the platoons for. D-1 is D minus 1 and HH is Hell's Highway. I left out Mid War.

You can also view them as a slideshow here:

Airborne Anti-Aircraft Artillery Platoon

This is the Airborne Anti-Aircraft Artillery Platoon found in Hell's Highway that can be used by the US Airborne. If i will ever use them is something i don't know.
One thing to complain. The hands of the gunners are a real mess, poorly cast.

Major General Maxwell Taylor and an Objective

All my (new) US Airborne minis are painted in the Normandy uniform color. Just to keep Army coherency.

Major General Maxwell Taylor

An Objective named: A Daring Plan.
The plan was to submit this objective for the BF painting competition. But for me it was not looking good enough to submit. My conclusion was correct looking at the results of other submitted objectives.

New updated army file for XXX Corps

I uploaded an updated army file for the XXX Corps from Hell's Highway. Someone pointed out to me that the old one contained a few mistakes.
- The Stats for the Hull MG on the UC were wrong.
- Guards company the UC platoon. Where you could swap 1 of the extra Hull MG's for a .50 cal AA MG the points wasn't working right. Example If you took 3 extra Hull MG's and you switch one of them for a . 50 cal AA MG you still had to take 3 Hull MG's to have the right point cost. This looked very odd on the OoB sheet.
- Guards Company the Machine gun platoon. When you selected this you did get a error message.
These problems are all solved.

A direct link to the file can be found in the left column under the Army Excel file Category.
Or here:
