90. Leichte Afrika Division Schützen Kompany part 3: The Combat Platoons

When i was painting these 2 platoons i suddenly realized that i posted the wrong army list in 90. Leichte Afrika Division Schützen Company part 1: The List. I have changed that now.
Further before i even could start painting i had to remove a lot of mold lines. Also some mini's are a little deformed. I tried to remove and fixed as much as possible but some is still visible.

On to the platoons.
Each platoon contains 1 Commander MG team and 6 MG teams. Added are 1 Anti Tank rifle team and 1 Mortar team. For now i have decided to leave out the transports.

  1. Nice work. I was tempted to go down the North Africa route when I started collecting FoW. I holidayed in Egypt many years ago and the desert has a strong pull on my soul. I ended up opting for Late War/Normandy to encourage the interest of my Brother-in-law. He's not wargamed before but for a long time I've sensed he was 'on the cusp' and just one little nudge from me could start him down that path. I was right, and now we are working towards a Normandy campaign. But I still dream of the desert...

  2. Thanks.I also went on holidays to Egypt many years go. It was hot, fun and great to see all the places.
I am more interested in Late War specially Airborne. I wanted to start a new army as both my Late War Army's are Allies i decided the next must be German and Mid War. Only problem now is that there is only 1 other with an Mid War army: Italian.
Great job to get your brother-in-law pulled in the game. And that dream of the dessert...it won't stay a dream. ;)

  3. Great looking troops my friend. I actually need to add some desert brush to my North Africa Italian infantry stands. Now that I've seen yours, I think I'll be using the same. I assume those are Woodland Scenics?

  4. Thank you.
The pebbles are found in my garden. The brush are different colored Lichen. I would suggest to avoid using the green ones. Suggestions are to use the Natural, Autumn mix for the brown colors and maybe spring green lichen.
I sealed the teams after i glued the lichen on.
    And yes it's Woodland Scenics.
