I tried to paint the bases to look like a pebble beach. Could get the colour right but the look and feel wasn't. So I decide for an other look.
For the platoon I used the BEF Rifle Platoon (BR702) blister because the look of these models came most close to the most desired look. Only problem I had with these models was that they were badly cast and a lot of the bayonets were broken off or bend, which broke off when I tried to bend them straight. At the end I could only save 4 models with a bayonet.

Now I am going to start my search for six Churchill III.
And still trying to find a solution for the decals.
Thanks for looking.
Another great job, very impressive!
ReplyDeleteThese look very nice. Shame about the bayonets and bad casts though, wonder if BF would replace them?
ReplyDeleteFor your Churchill III's, might I offer the PSC kits? Super crisp detail, affordable and go together SO MUCH EASIER than the BF resin and metal offerings.
Now that the platoon is painted I am not going to ask for a replacement. It's not such a big deal. Besides I don't want to paint an other platoon. :-)
DeleteThe PSC Churchills looks nice but I already have several Churchill I from BF (three converted to Churchill Oke). Don't know if there is much difference between the PSC and BF models? But it is an option to look at.
