The faces of the crew are horrible cast specially the one sitting on the gun. Next time i probably ask BF for new minis.
Because they aren't sealed yet the minis look very shiny on the pictures, so it is a little difficult to see the painting details. But i hope enough can be seen.
Sorry for the crappy pictures.

Thanks for looking.
Great looking guns.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan (in spite of my own inability to achieve the effect) of the clean and crisp look. You've done a great job with that on these minis.
I personally have not painted any artillery pieces yet but I am just now prepping my 7.5cm lelG18 infantry guns. When you put yours together, do you putty the bases and then glue the guns on top of the putty after it dries?
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell to honest they don't have a clean and crisp look. Because of the fact they aren't sealed yet it all looks very shiny so details are a little lost. But i painted mud on the guns and shoes of the crew. Also there is more shadow in it then on the first look.
These were easy because these were scenic basis so i had to do nothing. Only glue the crew on the base, fill little gaps, paint everything and glue the gun on it. Now i only have to add some flock.
Normally i place the gun on the base, don't glue it on but attach it temporarily using blue tack or something like that, after that i glue the crew on the base in such way it is still easy to paint them. Then i remove the gun and add the putty or whatever you use on the base. When that is done i take the gun and place it on the base and push it gently in the putty just deep enough so the wheels leave a little mark. Make sure the gun is on a horizontal level. I then remove the gun again and number it, like scratching a 1 at a place you won't notice when all is glued together and a 1 on the underside of the base. This is to keep the right gun with the right base. Then i paint everything. When that is done it depend for what army the guns are for if i add flock and then add the gun to the base or add the gun to the base and then add flock. If you first flock the base then make sure that you leave the markings for the gun free of flock.
